So Matcha Recipe – The Ultimate Smoothie

So yesterday I wrote about the taste and benefits of So Matcha green tea powder. Today I present to you the first of a series of recipes I have imagined up after tasting the tea yesterday. Today’s recipe is really the ultimate smoothie – packed so full of antioxidants and vitamins that it really is the perfect boost you need to start your morning. I am actually very excited about this recipe and think that it will become a regular feature in my daily life!

Ok so before I give you the recipe, just a little about the smoothie. This is like a powerhouse smoothie! Really has all you need to give you the va-va-VOOM to start the day!

There are 4 superfoods in this smoothie! That’s right folks – 4! 

  1. So Matcha Green Tea Powder
  2. Chia Seeds
  3. Kiwi Fruit
  4. Blueberries

The recipe makes 3 glasses. So Husby and I each had 1 and a half glasses this morning.

At first Husby was like “ooh this is not my favourite smoothie – it better make me feel like Superman!” I just huffed as I quite enjoyed it.

The taste of the matcha tea is very evident and I guess Husby hasn’t acquired a taste for it – yet. Like I said, it has a subtle bitter taste that hangs around the back of your mouth. With this being said though, by the time Husby finished his first glass he asked for more and confirmed what I wrote yesterday, that as you drink it, you start enjoying it and then it starts tasting moreish. He gladly swished back the other half glass that he had and commented that it was actually very good. Like they say – don’t judge a book by it’s cover – and I have translated that to – don’t judge a recipe by it’s first bite!

So without further adieu here is the recipe:

The Ultimate Matcha and Blueberry Smoothie
Serves 3
The ultimate breakfast smoothie! Packed with all the goodness you need to give you the energy and mental stamina you need to get through the day.

Ingredients
  1. 1 heaped tsp So Matcha Green Tea Powder Culinary Grade
  2. 1/2 cup Fresh Blueberries
  3. 1 Kiwi
  4. 1 cup Full Cream Greek Yoghurt
  5. 1 tsp Chia Seeds
  6. 1 tsp Raw Honey (or to taste)
  7. 2 cups Cold Water
Add ingredients to shopping list

Instructions
  1. Add all the ingredients into a blender
  2. Blend
  3. Enjoy!
Notes

    Oooh this recipe sounds so good!!! I personally love the taste of Matcha but struggle to find it in stores. Will keep an eye out for the So Matcha brand.
